As district races heat up in the 2022 Texas high school football regular season, seven Heart of Texas squads remain among the state’s Top 10 teams in Class 3A, 2A and 1A with two ranked at the top of their respective state poll.

The Heart of Texas state ranked teams include Class 3A, Division I’s Grandview Zebras (5-1) moving up a spot to No. 3; Class 2A, DI’s Crawford Pirates (6-0) holds at No. 3 while the Tolar Rattlers (6-0) move up two notches. Class 2A, DII’s top-ranked Mart Panthers (7-0); Class 1A, DI’s top-ranked Abbott Panthers (7-0) and fourth-ranked Jonesboro Eagles (6-1) hold onto their spots; while the Class 1A, DII’s Oglesby Tigers (7-0) moved up one to No. 4.

In one of last week’s showcase matchups, Tolar knocked off previously sixth-ranked Coleman, 16-6, to climb in the poll while Bluecats (5-2) dropped to No. 10. Leap-frogging to No. 4, Oglesby took advantage of second-ranked Richland Springs (4-1) losing their first district game in 81 games to third-ranked Cherokee (6-0) to move up in the poll.
