Here are Friday’s and Saturday’s final scores for the Class 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A Texas high school football playoff third round matchups from around the Heart of Texas region. In a clash of two undefeated, state-ranked six-man football teams, THE SPORTS BUZZ Game of the Week featured Class 1A, Division I’s top-ranked Abbott Panthers (13-0) surviving in a classic struggle with the eighth-ranked Gordon Longhorns (12-1), 32-24, while battling inclement weather conditions in the Region III Final Friday night at Hico’s historic Tiger Stadium.

Under the Friday night lights: Heart of Texas Class 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A & 1A teams move into Regional round of the 2022 Texas high school football playoffs with The Sports Buzz in Hico for the six-man game of the week

As the 2022 Texas high school football season heads into the second round of the playoffs, there will be a full slate of Class 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A teams playing under the Friday night lights across the Heart of Texas.

In a clash of two undefeated, state-ranked six-man football teams, THE SPORTS BUZZ Game of the Week features Class 1A, Division I’s top-ranked Abbott Panthers (12-0) facing the eighth-ranked Gordon Longhorns (12-0) in the Region III Final at 6 p.m. Friday in Hico’s historic Tiger Stadium.
