Here are Thursday’s and Friday’s final scores for Week 2 of the Class 3A, 2A and 1A Texas high school football action from around the Heart of Texas region.
On location in Iredell and Meridian and Iredell Friday, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air features the Class 1A, DII’s seventh-ranked Iredell Dragons (0-1) will play host to the Class 1A, DI Covington Owls (0-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday in THE SPORTS BUZZ Six-Man Game of the Week.
THE SPORTS BUZZ Game of the Week will also feature the Class 2A, Division II Meridian Yellowjackets (0-1) looking for their first win of the season as they host the Malakoff Cross Roads Bobcats (0-1) at 7 p.m. Friday at Jacket Stadium.
New this season, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air will present one of its weekly 10-minute highlight and interview segments every Sunday sponsored exclusively by Clifton Feed & Service Center before the 4 p.m. matinee movie at the historic and beautifully-renovated Cliftex Theatre in Clifton, the longest continuously running movie house in Texas, showing films on the silver screen since 1916.
