RUNNING HARD: Meridian's Hensley advances to NCAA DIII Regionals

November 6, 2019

ABILENE – Running in his last American Southwest Conference Championships cross country meet last Saturday, Meridian’s Latham Hensley set a new personal record in the 8K race to finish 17th running as a senior for the McMurry War Hawks.

Finishing just three spots short of making the ASC all-conference second team, Hensley sprinted to the finish line and edged a pair of University of the Ozarks runners at 27:32.6.

“Through the thick and thin, I couldn’t have asked for better teammates for the last four years,” said Hensley after the McMurry men’s cross country team finished fifth in conference behind champion UT-Dallas with 43 points, followed by Hardin-Simmons (56), University of the Ozarks (68) and LeTourneau (97). “Even the ones that graduated last year. Now on to regionals in two weeks.”
