Unapologetic Aggie & Yoeman

Jeff Boutwell joined The Sports Buzz Gridiron Gurus pick’ems panel in 2022. A longtime resident of Laguna Park and an unapologetic Aggie, Jeff was born and raised in Cameron and played on the Cameron Yoemen’s 1981 Class 3A State Football Championship team.

Jeff graduated in the Class of 1986 at Texas A&M where he was a member of Company S-2 of the Corps of Cadets. Jeff also played football at Texas A&M as a member of the famous 12th Man Kickoff Team from 1984-86 where he played on two Southwest Conference Championship teams. Personally 3-0 versus Texas, including 2-0 at Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium in Austin, Jeff played in the 1986 Cotton Bowl vs Auburn and Bo Jackson and the 1987 Cotton Bowl vs Ohio State with Chris Carter and Chris Spielman.

Having worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers since 1986, Jeff started his career as a Park Ranger at Lake Whitney, working in numerous positions with the Corps of Engineers at Lake Waco, Lake Grapevine and Lake Whitney. He also served overseas supporting the U.S. Army in Iraq in 2007 and 2009 as well as in Afghanistan in 2011.

Not only is Jeff an avid Aggie, he is also a big fan of Texas high school football and baseball. As a high school baseball umpire in the TASO Waco Chapter, Jeff has been selected to work the UIL state tournament twice in 2021 and 2022. Additionally, Jeff works as a football official crew chief. He’s also a student of all things history and enjoys hiking and working in his yard.

Jeff is married to Cecilia and has two children; Ryan, a former Super Centex Defensive Player of the Year at China Spring and three-year starter at defensive tackle at University North Texas, and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at Temple ISD, and Cullen, a 2014 graduate of Texas A&M and a Director of Operations for HEB with J.B. Hunt Transportation.
