January 7, 2020

CLIFTON – Playing in their first District 17-3A game since before the holiday break, the Clifton Lady Cub girls basketball team fell to the Class 3A 11th-ranked West Lady Trojans, 60-35, in a district matchup Friday night at the Clifton High School gymnasium.

“The girls played a tough battle on Friday,” Clifton girls basketball head coach Whitney Holdbrook said. “We just came up a little short offensively in the second half.”

The Lady Cubs (1-2 in district, 10-12 overall) hit the road to take on Keene (1-2, 6-6) today at 7:15 p.m. In other District 17-3A action, seventh-ranked Whitney (3-0, 20-3) visits the Harmony School of Innovation (0-3, 1-4), Maypearl (2-1, 15-5) travels to West (3-0, 12-3), and 19th-ranked Grandview (2-1, 18-4) hosts Rio Vista (0-3, 1-8).
