PUTTING IT ON THE LINE: Tarleton State looking for first home win hosting Mississippi State; Division III features Texas Lutheran at Hardin-Simmons classic
With weather conditions turning mildly spring-like across the state of Texas as the threat of COVID-19 appears to be subsiding, the unprecedented college spring football season offers a full slate of games in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and NCAA Division III.
After suffering a disappointing 26-14 loss FCS Independent rival Dixie State (1-0) last week, the Tarleton State Texans (1-2) hope to rebound in their first-ever meeting against Mississippi College (0-0) at 2 p.m. Saturday in Stephenville’s Memorial Stadium.
In an NCAA Division III showdown between the two undefeated teams in the American Southwest Conference West, Hardin-Simmons (1-0) hosts Texas Lutheran (2-0) in its home opener Saturday coming off an impressive 49-7 season-opening victory over McMurry. Texas Lutheran has won back-to-back games against Sul Ross State, 24-3, and Howard Payne, 39-38.
