Here’s the complete State Semifinal Playoff schedule for Class 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A & 1A teams in the Heart of Texas region and across Texas as the 2024 Texas high school football season moves into the fifth round of postseason tournament.

With two Heart of Texas teams just once step away from playing for the State Championship at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air focuses on the Class 4A, Division II State Semifinal matchup featuring the surprising 10th-ranked Waco La Vega Pirates (11-3) taking on the fourth-ranked Wimberly Texans (12-2) at 7 p.m. Friday at Georgetown ISD Stadium.
But first, the Class 2A, Division I State Semifinal features a battle of two undefeated squads as the 10th-ranked Hamilton Bulldogs (14-0) face the top-ranked Stamford Spartans (14-0) at 7 p.m. Thursday in Mineral Well’s Ram Stadium for THE SPORTS BUZZ Game of the Week.
The winners will advance to the State Championship games held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington next week.
New this season, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air will present one of its weekly 15-minute highlight and interview segments every Thursday at approximately 6:40 p.m., sponsored exclusively by Clifton Feed & Service Center, before the 7 p.m. movie at the historic and beautifully-renovated Cliftex Theatre in Clifton, the longest continuously running movie house in Texas, showing films on the silver screen since 1916.
The Sports Buzz On The Air segment will replay every Sunday at approximately 3:40 p.m. prior to the 4 p.m. matinee feature film at The Cliftex Theatre in Clifton.
Once again this season, THE SPORTS BUZZ will provide award-winning coverage of the 2023 Texas high school football season, focusing on Class 3A, 2A and 1A schools in the 10-county Heart of Texas region — which includes Bosque, Comanche, Coryell, Erath, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Johnson, McLennan and Somervell counties.
