January 14, 2020

CLIFTON — Hoping to snap a two-game skid in District 17-3A competition, the Clifton Cub boys basketball team will host the Rio Vista Eagles today at 7:30 p.m. in the Clifton High School Gymnasium.

Last Friday night, the Cubs (1-2 in district, 13-6 overall) suffered their fourth loss in the last six games when the Grandview Zebras handed Clifton an overwhelming 59-15 loss on the road.

Rio Vista (1-2, 7-12) comes into the contest on the heels of a convincing 79-12 victory over Harmony Science of Innovation.

In other District 17-3A action last Friday night, Whitney defeated West, 52-41, and Maypearl held off Keene, 51-42.

Tuesday’s district matchups include Whitney (3-0, 7-8) visiting Keene (2-1, 8-6), Grandview (3-0, 11-12) hosting Maypearl (3-0, 10-6), and Harmony (0-3, 0-5) taking on West (0-3, 10-10).
