BOUNCING BACK: Lady Cubs aim climb back into District 17-3A race

CLIFTON — Aiming to climb back into the District 17-3A playoff chase, the Clifton Lady Cub girls basketball team will play host to the Rio Vista Lady Eagles today at 6 p.m. in the Clifton High School Gymnasium.

Last Friday night, the Class 3A’s 12th-ranked Grandview Lady Zebras (4-1 in district, 20-4 overall) dealt the Lady Cubs (1-4, 10-14) their fourth straight district defeat, stampeding to a convincing 41-15 victory.

In other District 17-3A action last Friday night, Maypearl slipped by Keene, 56-48, 22nd-ranked West edged previously seventh-ranked Whitney, 48-41, and Rio Vista knocked off Harmony.

While Clifton hosts Rio Vista (2-3, 2-9) tonight, Harmony (0-5, 1-6) visits West (4-1, 13-4).

Grandview (4-1, 20-4) hosts Maypearl (4-1, 17-5), and Whitney (4-1, 21-4) travels to Keene (2-3, 7-7).
