WHITNEY – Hoping to turn their season around and keep their postseason hopes alive, the Clifton Lady Cub girls basketball team will open the second round of District 17-3A competition by visiting the Whitney Lady Wildcats (5-2 in district, 22-5 overall) today at 6 p.m.

“This week, we have Whitney, which will be a tough game,” Clifton girls basketball head coach Whitney Holdbrook said. “The girls have worked hard in practice preparing for the game, and we are looking to execute our game plan.”

Wrapping up the first round of District 17-3A play last Friday, the Lady Cubs (2-5, 11-15) fell to the Maypearl Lady Panthers, 48-15, last Friday night at the Clifton High School Gymnasium, losing for the fifth time in the last six district games.
