Although most of the playoff berths have already been locked up across the Heart of Texas region, there will still be a few spots up for grab and plenty of maneuvering for favorable postseason seeding as Class 3A, 2A & 1A teams wrap up the 2020 Texas high school football regular season under the Friday night lights.
In Class 3A, Division I, the defending state champion and second-ranked Grandview Zebras (5-0 in district, 9-0 overall) will try to put the finishing touches on a perfect regular season when they host third place Dallas Madison(4-1), while the West Trojans (4-1, 7-2) hope to secure second place when they visit the playoff-bound Maypearl Panthers (3-2, 7-2).
In District 11-3A, DI, the Lorena Leopards (4-1, 6-2) will travel to Rockdale (4-1, 6-3) to face the Tigers in a district championship showdown, while the McGregor Bulldogs (3-2, 5-4) hope to secure a playoff spot when they visit Caldwell (0-5, 2-7).
The Comanche Indians (2-2, 7-2) can wrap up a postseason berth in District 5-3A, DII with a victory at Merkel (1-3, 3-5), while the Clifton Cubs (2-3, 3-6) will be looking for their seventh consecutive trip to the playoffs in a District 13-3A, DII do-or-die at Lexington (2-3, 5-3).

In Class 2A, DI, the seventh-ranked Crawford Pirates (5-0, 9-0) look to wrap up a perfect regular season against the Valley Mills Eagles (1-4, 3-6) in the District 7-2A, DI finale.
Despite already eliminated from the playoff race, the upstart Meridian Yellowjackets (1-3, 3-5) hope to conclude their turnaround season with a victory over District 8-2A, DII runner-up Cross Plains (3-1, 7-2), while in District 10-2A, DII, the Hubbard Jaguars (2-1, 5-2) will battle Bremond for second place behind three-time defending state champion and top-ranked Mart Panthers (5-0, 9-0).
Due to numerous Covid-19 precautions put into play this season, plenty remains up for grabs in Class 1A six-man football across the Heart of Texas.
In the showcase game of the week, the defending state champion Blum Bobcats (3-0, 5-3) will visit Avalon (2-1, 4-4) in a battle for the District 11-1A, DI crown, while the Covington Eagles (2-1, 4-4) hope a victory at Milford will be enough to secure a playoff berth.
