WEEK 10: Due to numerous Covid-19 precautions put into play this season, many Class 1A six-man football playoff spots remain in play across the Heart of Texas
Going into the final week of the 2020 Texas high school football regular season, the Class 1A, Division I defending state champion Blum Bobcats will battled for the District 11-1, Division II title after a resounding 48-0 victory over Milford last week, while Covington Owls remained in control of their own postseason destiny with a 61-0 win over the Bynum Bulldogs.
As the Heart of Texas’s only undefeated team, the 14th-ranked Abbott Panthers kept their unblemished record with a 51-6 victory over the Aquilla Cougars last week after claiming the District 12-1A, DI crown.
In District 15-1A, DI action, the 11th-ranked Jonesboro Eagles wrapped up the district title with a resounding 62-15 victory over runner-up Lometa last week.
Covid-19 and the injury big helped to decided the playoff chase in District 12-1A, DII as the 16th-ranked Morgan Eagles posted a convincing 58-6 victory over the playoff-bound Walnut Springs Hornets in a showdown for the district title last week.
And in District 14-1A, DII play, the Oglesby Tigers secured a playoff berth with an overwhelming 82-32 victory over Buckholts to set up a district championship showdown with the Dime Box Longhorns this week.
