Under the Friday night lights: Heart of Texas Class 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A & 1A teams move into Regional round of the 2022 Texas high school football playoffs with The Sports Buzz in Hico for the six-man game of the week
As the 2022 Texas high school football season heads into the second round of the playoffs, there will be a full slate of Class 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A teams playing under the Friday night lights across the Heart of Texas.
In a clash of two undefeated, state-ranked six-man football teams, THE SPORTS BUZZ Game of the Week features Class 1A, Division I’s top-ranked Abbott Panthers (12-0) facing the eighth-ranked Gordon Longhorns (12-0) in the Region III Final at 6 p.m. Friday in Hico’s historic Tiger Stadium.
Once again this season, THE SPORTS BUZZ continues to provide award-winning coverage of the 2022 Texas high school football season, focusing on Class 3A, 2A and 1A schools in the 10-county Heart of Texas region — which includes Bosque, Comanche, Coryell, Erath, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Johnson, McLennan and Somervell counties.
