Here’s the complete Class 3A, 2A & 1A schedule for teams in the Heart of Texas region on Week 1 of the 2024 Texas high school football season. Be sure to check back for up-to-the-minute scores throughout the weekend.
On location in Morgan on Thursday and Clifton Friday, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air features the Class 3A, Division II Clifton Cubs looking for their third straight trip to the playoffs when they open the season by hosting the Class 2A, DI Riesel Indians at 7 p.m. Friday at Cub Stadium in THE SPORTS BUZZ Game of the Week.
And offering a doubleheader on opening weekend, THE SPORTS BUZZ Six-Man Game of the Week will feature the Class 1A, Division II Cranfills Gap Lions visiting the Morgan Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Thurday.
New this season, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air will present one of its weekly 10-minute highlight and interview segments every Sunday sponsored exclusively by Clifton Feed & Service Center before the 4 p.m. matinee movie at the historic and beautifully-renovated Cliftex Theatre in Clifton, the longest continuously running movie house in Texas, showing films on the silver screen since 1916.
Once again this season, THE SPORTS BUZZ will provide award-winning coverage of the 2024 Texas high school football season, focusing on Class 3A, 2A and 1A schools in the 10-county Heart of Texas region — which includes Bosque, Comanche, Coryell, Erath, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Johnson, McLennan and Somervell counties.
