Here are Thursday’s, Friday’s and Saturday’s final scores along with updated team win-loss records for Week 5 of the Class 3A, 2A and 1A Texas high school football action from around the Heart of Texas region.
On location in Meridian Friday, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air features the Class 2A, Division II Meridian Yellowjackets (0-3) attempt to overcome a rash of injuries to post their first win of the season on Homecoming Night when Meridian plays host the Hubbard Jaguars (1-2) in the District 10-2A, DII opener at 7 p.m. Friday at Jacket Stadium in THE SPORTS BUZZ Game of the Week.
And in THE SPORTS BUZZ Six-Man Game of the Week, the Class 1A, Division II Cranfills Gap Lions (2-0) continue to battle back from early season injuries to take on the Class 1A, DI Lingleville Cardinals (0-3) on Homecoming Night in Cranfills Gap at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
New this season, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air will present one of its weekly 15-minute highlight and interview segments every Sunday at approximately 3:40 p.m., sponsored exclusively by Clifton Feed & Service Center, before the 4 p.m. matinee movie at the historic and beautifully-renovated Cliftex Theatre in Clifton, the longest continuously running movie house in Texas, showing films on the silver screen since 1916.
The Sports Buzz On The Air segment will replay every Thursday at approximately 6:40 p.m. prior to the 7 p.m. feature film at The Cliftex Theatre in Clifton.
