Here are Thursday’s and Friday’s final scores with Saturday’s results still pending along with updated team win-loss records for Week 6 of the Class 3A, 2A and 1A Texas high school football action from around the Heart of Texas region.
On location in Walnut Springs Saturday, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air features the Class 1A, Division I Walnut Springs Hornets (3-2) hoping to give their faithful plenty to celebrate on Homecoming Night when the Hornets play host the Jonesboro Eagles Junior Varsity in their final non-district game at 7 p.m. Saturday at Katy Field in THE SPORTS BUZZ Six-Man Game of the Week.
And in another THE SPORTS BUZZ Six-Man Game of the Week, the Class 1A, Division II Kopperl Eagles (3-1) will visit the Cranfills Gap Lions (0-5) as both teams get in their final tune-ups for district play at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
New this season, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air will present one of its weekly 15-minute highlight and interview segments every Sunday at approximately 3:40 p.m., sponsored exclusively by Clifton Feed & Service Center, before the 4 p.m. matinee movie at the historic and beautifully-renovated Cliftex Theatre in Clifton, the longest continuously running movie house in Texas, showing films on the silver screen since 1916.
The Sports Buzz On The Air segment will replay every Thursday at approximately 6:40 p.m. prior to the 7 p.m. feature film at The Cliftex Theatre in Clifton.
