Here are Thursday’s and Friday’s final scores with updated team win-loss records for Week 8 of the Class 3A, 2A and 1A Texas high school football action from around the Heart of Texas region.
On location in Kopperl Friday night, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air features the Class 1A, Division II Kopperl Eagles (4-1) coming off an open week to begin District 11-1A, DII competition by hosting the undefeated Three Way Braves (1-0, 7-0) at 7 p.m. Friday at Eagle Field in THE SPORTS BUZZ Six-Man Game of the Week.
And in another THE SPORTS BUZZ Game of the Week, the Class 3A, Division II Clifton Cubs (1-0, 4-2) will make a two-hour road trip to take on the Early Longhorns (0-1, 1-5) in a District 5-3A, DII matchup at 7 p.m. Friday at Longhorn Stadium.
New this season, THE SPORTS BUZZ On The Air will present one of its weekly 15-minute highlight and interview segments every Sunday at approximately 3:40 p.m., sponsored exclusively by Clifton Feed & Service Center, before the 4 p.m. matinee movie at the historic and beautifully-renovated Cliftex Theatre in Clifton, the longest continuously running movie house in Texas, showing films on the silver screen since 1916.
The Sports Buzz On The Air segment will replay every Thursday at approximately 6:40 p.m. prior to the 7 p.m. feature film at The Cliftex Theatre in Clifton.
